Plans predictably call for citizens to have an identifying mark painted on their foreheads. For evangelical Christian readers, the plot will feel familiar. Graham Peck, a high-powered presence in the Chicago political machine, is uneasy when his boss, the mayor, joins up with a charismatic world leader named Hassan Jawhar Rashid, aka Borden Camber Carson. Terrorists are creating havoc in Chicago, and the population is looking for someone to institute order in the cThe story of one family's struggle for survival in an apocalyptic world--where one choice will determine their future.If you haven't read either series yet, you don't know what you are missing, but that being said, I wouldn't recommend starting here (with the exception of the Alpha and Omega story), as these stories would be better enjoyed with the full knowledge of the rest of the books. The content isn't particulary groundbreaking, and the writing is perhaps best described as ordinary, newspaper coloum style. He includes the details that matter, such as witty quotes out of some of our favorite, and even a few unknown, GLBT historical figures. Bussell provides us with the insight that can enable reconciliation. Recommended it to many friends and I couldn't wait for book 2. What little value they MIGHT have is because they have read and either quoted or plagiarized Jarvis. Writers have their own styles, yes, and the "odd" prose diction aspect can perhaps be ignored.
