McKenna was a scholar of shamanism, ethno-botanist, psychedelic researcher and author of many books.

Lemon addresses the topic but doesn't linger on it, and with good reason: it's just part of his story. Written by an expert, this book is very practical and nice introduction to the world of 3D using AutoCAD. Is this to say that I am convinced that things happened how Mckenna describes them? No, but it is an interesting suggestion, and not at all scientifically ridiculous.Mckenna then goes on to describe how, in his opinion, the shamanic, hallucinogen-literate societies of the late paleolithic were transformed into the current consumerist, hallucinogen-illiterate, drug consuming, but at the same time drug prosecuting and demonizing societies. Highly recommend it even if you have a large collection of books as I do.. Not worth the read. Unfortunately, in this part of the book, Mckenna is often too sloppy, even for a book which is obviously meant to be leaning out of the window with speculation. This book presents the last stirrings of abstract expressionism into the birth of a newly re-discovered figure. A remarkable book, addictive notwithstanding the huge amount of historical facts that the author displays packed in nearly 280 pages. Fast, easy, interesting book about the man and his buildings..
